Viva Cuenca!

Viva Cuenca! More Cuenca Independence Day (long weekend) celebrations.

This was part of the parade today in El Centro approaching Parque Calderon.

This was a very well done elaborate skit that lasted about ten minutes symbolizing Cuenca’s break with Spain and gaining independence at which point they declared (very loudly) VIVA CUENCA!!! It was awesome..

  1. Have you made any new Expat friends there yet Texas?

  2. Hi Sharon. I met an Expat at Cuenca Immigration last week applying for a residency visa and I’ve met a couple of English speaking tourists but nothing I would call a friend. I can’t say that I’m looking though either. I see Expats on the street or at the mall here all the time, it’s an every day occurrence but I’m not really interested in hanging out with any of them. There are Expat get togethers all the time here though, no shortage of that for sure. That reminds me, I saw something funny the other day, “Beware of Gringos with business cards!” LOL 😉
