I stopped by the Mercart Food Garden, Casa del Río de Quinta Lucrecia this afternoon. This is the third edition of this event and the last day of this three day Cuenca, Ecuador event.

Casa del Río de Quinta Lucrecia is gorgeous and I welcomed the excuse to go in and look around for the first time. It’s on Primero de Mayo and I ride my bike right by there every day on the river trail.

I was on my way home after about a 20 mile bike ride and just happened upon this event. I noticed a number of people walking through the gate on Primero de Mayo so I went in also.

I spoke with a woman inside who was also just sightseeing like me. I asked her what was going on (Que pasa?) and she said it was an event with a number of booths with things for sale. Nice lady, she lives in Cuenca but is originally from Venezuela.

I found out later it was “officially” a gastronomic event with 65 exhibitors from Quito, Loja, Guayaquil and Cuenca.  Also home and garden decorating exhibitors.

Attendees looked upscale for the most part and I suspect the venue had a lot to do with that. Casa del Río de Quinta Lucrecia is a real jaw dropper and the weather was perfect.
