Rotofest 2017 – Cuenca, Ecuador is being held today at Parque de la Madre. It’s fourteen straight hours of Electronic Music that started at 10:00 A.M. this morning.
If you aren’t familiar with Electronic Music it’s been around for a long time and I’ve always liked it. The sound is all electronic and heavy on the beat, which makes it great dance music.
I’ve always called it club music because if you walk into a nightclub or disco anywhere in the world this is probably what you’ll hear.
Parque de la Madre has a huge plaza and a large stage is set up on it with giant speakers and two video screens. Tonight after the sun goes down the plaza will become one gigantic dance floor and packed too.
There’s an area with music related merchandise and some other cool stuff for sale on the other side of the plaza. More than 10,000 used vinyl LP’s and used CD’s are for sale too.
There’s a food area with a variety of different food for sale.
Pilsner has a few booths set up selling their Cero beer for $1 each.
It still amazes me how quickly an event like this can physically be put together including erecting the stage and then dismantling it all the next morning like it never happened.
